100% Gluten free & plant based tea room

A love for tea isn’t required to enjoy a tea party at Drink Me! Tea Room in Tempe but an appreciation for gluten-free and plant-based treats is a must. The allergy-friendly tea room promises a safe experience for both those with Celiac disease and vegans. The owner’s personal food allergies served as the driving force behind the creation of this unique space, where anyone with dietary needs can enjoy the delights of an afternoon tea–worry-free.

Guests who join the Tempe hot spot for an afternoon tea are presented with a themed menu book of options: a full tea with a three-tiered selection of savory and sweet treats, a tea with just savory items or just the sweets, among other selections. Then, it’s time to choose the tea flavors for the table from an impressive selection of more than 40 black, green and herbal/fruit teas. Some can be served hot or cold and some even have glitter in them, sure to entice any skeptical kids to try a sip. Potions, or “special-tea” cocktails and mocktails, can also be added to the experience at Drink Me! Tea Room. 

While the menu rotates depending on the theme, guests can expect a variety of individual gluten-free, vegan savory items like a cucumber-cream cheese sandwich, a caramelized onion crostini and a mini Shepherd’s Pie. The sweets often include a special scone flavor, macarons, trifles and cookies, all of which are baked in house. 

In addition to the delightfully delicious food and drinks, Drink Me! Tea Room also offers photo opportunities, décor and backdrops related to each theme. Starting Aug. 17, Star Wars fans can immerse themselves in an intergalactic afternoon tea inspired by the movie series, available until Aug. 27. Following that, an Alice in Wonderland-themed afternoon tea awaits from Aug. 28 to Oct. 1. Additionally, the tea room hosts special events like a Stephen King book club and Drag Bingo.
