Chef’s Kitchen Series at the Montelucia: Rosé & Gluten Free Dishes

When I see an entire menu dedicated to gluten free dishes, this gluten free girl cannot pass that up!

The culinary team at the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia hosted an exclusive one-of-a-kind experience with rosés from all over the world and a 100% gluten free menu.

The space is intimate – inside what feels like a beautiful guest house bungalow, with a patio, herb garden and mountain views. The inside maxes out at 22 guests, but tonight there are only 8.

The kitchen is open and very close to the table so guests can see the chef’s work. The guests are mingling and enjoying their first glass of wine.

When it’s 115 degrees outside. hand me a glass of rosé. Quench Fine Wine showcased five gorgeous wines, all different in color and complexity, pairing perfectly with each course. The Soter Vineyards rose from Willamette Valley (2017) was my favorite. It paired nicely with the fattiness of the salmon crudo, which was our first course.

Executive Chef Marcos Seville told us the salmon was caught by a fellow chef himself. How amazing is that? These pieces were thick but melted in your mouth.

My favorite dish was the dessert. My dining companion, Cynthia Sassi of Fabulous Arizona, and I always joke that the gluten free dessert is always…let me guess…sorbet. What a refreshing change to have a complex and beautiful dessert to end a great meal.
